Week one done and week two starting up!

Week two begins in a historic time in our country where we are navigating a global Pandemic and historical protests for Black Lives Matter.  It seems like we should acknowledge these times while we continue to train for our goals in Nordic skiing and be grateful we can live and train in such a beautiful, natural, safe community.

Today we finished an uphill running time trial that was a real burner on the calves and Achilles.  With the great support of my teammates and coach Andy I was able to set a personal best on the course. So I celebrated with some bagelworks sandwiches. I highly recommend these as a post workout refuel. The whole BSF team was there, young and old, and everyone was working hard too. Morale and camaraderie were high.

Looking forward, we hope to crust ski at Bee Hive Basin later this week, which is another unique experience training in Bozeman.

We recently were able to go back into the Mountain Project gym and take in Andy’s professional and exceptionally challenging strength routine.  While these exercise are really challenging they push us to be Roman Gladiators, (here are your Gladiators) which will definitely help us achieve our goals and ski super fast.We look forward to a great rest of the summer and hope those reading will continue to follow our progress and enjoy everyone’s blog posts

Gratefully yours,
Nick Matelich,
