Hello, Mariah here!

This past week our team had a camp in park city, utah. It consisted of good volume hours in as well as a few legit intensity sessions, including two rollerski time trials at Soldiers Hollow and bounding intervals up one of the ski resorts. I was personally recovering from a knee injury so I had alternative workouts in the beginning, but was able to join the normal program and intensity sessions for the second half of the week.

The weather was slightly variable, but luckily we were prepared and had a lot of clothes with us to stay warm. It even snowed for a few days and some people on the team even got their first ski in on the golf course.

We had a good amount of distance skis and runs along with the other teams, and I got to see some new places including a ski up a ranch road in Park City. The end of fall was pretty apparent but there was still enough color on the trees to give some scenic views.

All in all I would say this was a productive camp that left us feeling tired, but also ready for the season to begin in a few weeks up in Canmore. It was pretty sweet to train with such a high level of people and I think it was motivating for the upcoming season. As a U of U alumni it was fun to come back and see the skiing Utes along with everyone else. The sunshine came out on the last day and we had a super nice run on some park city trails!
