Hello everyone, Graham here to give you an update on the BSF Pro team, as we are heading into the end of summer training with the month of August. From a training front, this past week was an intensity week and we ended it with the Jim Bridger Trail Run/Roll, which for the first time was a two day event! The first day was dedicated to a roller ski race, with both men and women doing a 12 km skate, which took place on a 1.8 km loop near the MSU football stadium, so it was super spectator friendly. On the women’s side, Mariah Bredal was the top Pro team finisher, coming in second with Sarah Goble coming in third and Hannah Rudd coming in 4th.
On the men's side, the BSF men were able to sweep the podium with Logan taking the victory with a sprint finish with Finn and Reid rounding out the podium in third. Graham and Simon finished 5th and 6th not too far behind the others. Overall it was a great day for everyone and it was great having racers from not only the Bridger Ski Foundation but also from other clubs come and participate. The only downside to the whole event was just how hot it was during the whole event. The race itself wasn’t super challenging, but the heat made it feel twice as hard.
The second day of the JBTR went just as well as the first, with members on both the mens and womens team posting great results! On the women’s side, Mariah was the overall women’s winner with Hannah finishing in third. On the men's side, Reid was unable to defend his win from last year but still was able to finish well, coming in 2nd, and Finn was our next best finisher coming in 4th.
It was a super fun week and having the JBTR at the end was just the cherry on top, but now we are looking towards our upcoming training camp in the midwest in just a few weeks. It should be a fun time and it will be super nice to get back to sea level and be able to take advantage of everything that brings. But you’ll have to check back in later to see how that goes.
Thanks for reading,
Graham
