Bridger Ski Foundation is pleased to introduce Laura Huggins as the organization’s new director of development.
Most recently, Laura worked as Director of Corporate Partnerships at American Prairie Reserve where she oversaw relationships with partners ranging from National Geographic to Stio. She has spent twenty years working in the environmental arena—from writing about global issues at a think tank at Stanford University to working with Montana non-profits on both local and national issues. She has published several books, including Environmental Entrepreneurship: Markets Meet the Environment in Unexpected Places. Laura enjoys spending as much time as possible trying to keep up with her kids at Bridger Bowl!
“I grew up skiing with family and racing with friends at Powder Mountain,” she notes. “I feel so fortunate to have found a similar ski and winter community in Bozeman and Bridger Bowl. We have a unique asset here and I am looking forward to both conserving and growing our love of winter by keeping skiing affordable to all through fundraising, scholarships, financial aid, and open trail access.”
Laura has stepped up to fill the vacancy created when the former director of development, Lisa Diekmann, took the position of CEO/President at Yellowstone Forever. (You can read more on Lisa’s tenure and 8+ years at BSF HERE.)
“It's been great having Laura join the BSF team,” says BSF Executive Director Evan Weiss. “Laura brings tremendous professional experience. I could immediately feel her passion for the Bozeman community and for BSF's winter sports programs. She has been working hard to get up to speed on all things BSF. I encourage the community to reach out to her for partnership opportunities. BSF is reliant on community philanthropy to deliver our world-class programming and the groomed Community Nordic Trails system.”
Laura began her position on October 1 and is already hard at work meeting the ski community and local businesses. To contact her, you can email laura.huggins@bridgerskifoundation.org or call (801) 726-4517.
