Bridger Ski Foundation (BSF) has begun a trial program with the Gallatin Valley YMCA that will give kids from the West Bozeman and Belgrade areas easier access to skiing and ski instruction. The six-week program began last weekend and will include three weekends of Nordic ski instruction from BSF coaches, on trails groomed by BSF in Bozeman. The second half of their program will involve ski lessons at Bridger Bowl with the Bridger Bowl ski school.
The Gallatin Valley YMCA also provides the participants with transportation to and from the ski sessions, and Round House Sports is providing equipment at a reduced cost. It's a great example of organizations working together to make skiing more accessible to local youth. A generous donor supported BSF's portion of this year's program with a one-time gift, and going forward we hope to find additional support to grow this program to include more youth.
