LEGACY GIFT

Make a gift to BSF through your estate planning. You can have an enduring impact on thousands through BSF's ski programs, trails, and community events.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a gift to BSF may provide valuable tax deductions. We also love to recognize BSF's legacy partners with a commemorative plaque either at Bridger Bowl or at the heart of our Nordic operations at Sunset Hills.

HOW: Talk to your financial advisor to make a bequest to BSF in your estate plan.

SHARE YOUR PLANS: If you included BSF in your estate plans, let us know so we can welcome you into the 1936 Club. You can fill out this letter of intention.

QUESTIONS? Please feel free to contact our Director of Development, Laura Huggins at laura.huggins@bridgerskifoundation.org or 801-726-4517

TYPES OF LEGACY GIFTS:
  • Specific bequest: a gift of a specific asset, such as a dollar amount, real estate, or a car.

  • Percentage bequest: make a gift of a certain percentage of your overall estate (ex. leaving 10% of your estate to BSF).

  • Stock: make a gift of stock.

  • Residual bequest: make a gift by leaving a balance of your estate after specific bequests are met.

  • Retirement account: designate BSF as the beneficiary of part of your retirement account. (Retirement accounts such as IRAs and 401(k)s can make up a substantial portion of total assets, but may burden your beneficiaries with taxes.)

  • Life insurance: designate BSF as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, which may result in significant estate tax savings.

I'M MAKING A LEGACY GIFT
“Thank you for considering Bridger Ski Foundation in your estate planning. Your planned gift allows BSF to invest in our programs, increase scholarships, and to ensure the Community Nordic Trails remain accessible to all. BSF is proud of our almost 90-year history and we look forward to continuing to foster ski-culture, exceptional experiences, and healthy lifestyles across the Bozeman community.”

THE HISTORY

ABOUT US

It's called the 1936 Club for a reason. For nearly 90 years, Bridger Ski Foundation (BSF) has provided key pieces to the fabric that makes our ski community so special. Well before BSF helped establish Bridger Bowl, our hearty club came together in 1936 to help run the first ski events in the valley and to get people up Bear Canyon and the old Pine Hill. Our Freestyle program roots go back to Montana's first mavericks of freestyle skiing. And, of course, Bozeman’s unique Nordic skiing scene has a national reputation. You’ll find former and aspiring Olympians on the trails, as well as skiers of all ages and abilities. The motto here is, as it has always been, to “keep the people skiing.”

This effort takes a village. Join us in helping to keep this Montana way of life secured into the future.
